Six local households are currently propagating Myoporum parvifolium (Creeping Boobialla) from cuttings.
These creepers are relatively easy to grow from stem cuttings and are a great asset to our local biodiversity. They spread quickly, provide refuge and food for insects, lizards and other small critters, keep the soil cooler and outcompete weeds. Wonder plants!
We strike roots on the cuttings in perlite, then pot them into potting mix to grow on and harden up to the elements. In June-July 2024 we’ll put the young plants into the ground in Borthwick Park.
Thankyou to our wonderful volunteers. We appreciate your time and efforts and are excited to see the progress of your little plants.
